'Nine Maidens'
Our 'Nine Maidens' application is a
program that will provide readings using the divination cards originaly
produced and published by Cornish-Otter, reproduced with their kind
permission.
| |
Based on the original set of divination cards by
Cornish-Otter. The 'Nine Maidens' cards, and the 10th card, the Shaper
Maiden, are designed to give the user's inner voice somewhere to start
from. It is best to read them intuitively, and apply them to each individual
situation. To answer a question, three
cards are randomly chosen, with the first representing what has gone
before, the second card what is happening now, and the third card what
may come. A second set of three will reveal underlying or shadow issues.
The 'Nine Maidens' application has been designed to run on most colour
phones that support J2ME™ (JAVA Micro Edition). Within the application
are images of the 10 cards. The cards are designed to fit on a screen
that is around 128 pixels high. The application will work on phones
with a smaller screen size, however the whole of a card image will not
fit onto their screen, and you will have to scroll the display to see
the entire image.
Instructions
When you start the 'Nine Maidens' program for the
first time, after initialisation, you are presented with a page that
describes the application. All otehr times, you are presented with the
first page of a reading. Each reading is on 3 pages.
To select a page, you use the left and right navigation keys (or you
may use the 4 and 6 keys). This will show the last or next of the three
pages for a readiing. At the top of each page is a title to indicate
which of the three pages you are viewing; past, present and future.
Most of the time, the page will need to be scrollled in order to see
the full text. This is accomplished by using the normal 'up' and 'down'
navigation keys on a phone, or with the '8' and '2' keys.
The 'select' key (normally in the middle of the navigation keys) or
'5' key is used to begin a new reading. The demo version will only allow
one reading each time the program is run.
Registering and Unlocking
When you buy an unlock code for this program from us, you will be able
to register and unlock your copy of 'Nine Maidens'. This process requires
that the program contacts our website to verify that the unlock information
you provide is correct, and will then register this information as being
used by your phone. Once verified, the program will be unlocked for
unlimited use on that phone and the verification with our site will
not need to be performed again unless you re-install the program. Because
the product will be registered as being used on one particular phone,
it can also be un-registered, and then re-registered on a new phone.
There are two ways to navigate to the screen for entering unlock details.
Firstly, the menu option 'Register' can be used when viewing the registration
reminder message. Secondly, you may follow the menu path 'Help/About/Register'.
When on the registration page, there are two fields. One is for an email
address, and one for the unlock code. The 'up' and 'down' navigation
keys cxan be used to highlight each of them, and the 'select' key can
be used to initiate your phone's text input interface, where you can
enter the information.
When your unlock information has been entered, you can then select the
'Register' menu option to begin the verification process. When unlocked,
a menu command 'unregister' will become active, and you can use this
to unregister or de-link the unlock code from that phone.
There is also a menu option on the registration information screen that
allows you to check for updates to the program. This will let you know
if a newer version has been released. It can also serve as a way of
testing that your phone can communicate with our website, and we recommend
that it is tried before you buy an unlock code because some networks
or contracts may not allow the communication with our site.
